One of the most requested is Chef Daniel Sanchez. Chef Daniel is a specialist in Mexican food, as he was born in Mexico City and raised in Guadalajara. He brings some of that culture to the gourmet meals he creates for guests of SunCabo Vacations villas. Chef Daniel got his start early, washing dishes in a Japanese restaurant. He moved on to waiting tables and bartending, but truly came to love his time spent in the kitchen. For Chef Daniel, it’s a labor of love, whether he’s cooking for his own friends and family, or for villa guests in Los Cabos.
He once studied tourism at a technical school, he’s worked in a restaurant, and he’s worked in hotels. Later in his career, he gained new skills working at Las Ventanas al Paraiso Resort in Cabo, as well as experiencing the flavors of the world while traveling through Europe. With traveling, he gained inspiration into the fundamentals of truly homemade food. Throughout his career, Chef Daniel has also worked in Puerto Vallarta, Guadalajara, and the Fiji Islands. He says he's used books, videos, and online courses to perfect his skills, and he’s still learning new things, even today.
Chef Daniel wants guests to know Mexican food is influenced by flavors from around the world, and there’s a lot of diversity in every meal he creates. He truly enjoys making Charcoal Grilled whole chicken with adobo and salsa. It’s something that brings back memories of his own childhood. At home, he enjoys making fresh fish ceviche and fish tacos for his own family, because he can get the ingredients fresh at a local market. You will likely find him shopping at Cabo Seafood Market in San Lucas, Mercado Organico in San Jose, at La Comer for groceries, and for fresh tortillas at Tortilleria Lulu in San Jose.
Chef Daniel is one of around a half dozen Elite Chefs used by Sun Cabo Vacations. Guests can create their own menus through the Elite Chef Open Service option, choose selections from one of the Elite Chef sample menus, or opt for the Elite Chef fixed price menu. Prices vary depending on the number of guests, the menu, and the service.
